Rabbitohs forward, Ben Lowe, spoke to about his goals and his role within Michael Maguire’s team ahead of this Saturday night’s clash against the Newcastle Knights at ANZ Stadium.

Lowe has been a strong performer for the side in recent weeks, with the forward consistently featuring in Rabbitstats on a weekly basis. Against the Dragons at the SCG last week, Lowe made 101 metres with the ball in hand while also being among the side’s top tacklers with 26.

“My biggest goal I suppose is to try and help out the big boppers,” said Lowe.

“They’re probably the biggest part of our forward pack and if I can just lighten the work-load for them a little bit I’m doing my job.

“I’m just working hard for teammates and that’s what is keeping me focussed and driven.”

Lowe also spoke of the level of competition in the Rabbitohs forward-pack as a driving force for him and his teammates leading into Round 20.

“It’s a good spot to be in I suppose for Madge,” admitted Lowe.

“Everyone’s fighting fit at the minute which is good and it’s a good spot to be in because from week to week, players are getting through the grind of the NRL and everyone’s going to be called upon at some certain stage.”
