For Rabbitohs young-gun Cameron McInnes, this week’s return to the Sydney Cricket Ground is a homecoming of sorts, with the hooker making his first grade debut at the venue last season.

McInnes came on as a replacement in Round 5 of the 2014 season against the Dragons, in what was a historic night for the Rabbitohs with John Sutton breaking the Club’s all-time appearance record.

“It was a great experience to make my debut there last year,” said McInnes.

“It’s a really special place for me so I’m looking forward to going back there this week definitely.”

McInnes has spent the last few weeks plying his trade for the North Sydney Bears and has been taking the opportunity to learn from current Rabbitohs rake, Issac Luke.

“At the moment I’ve been in reserve grade the last few weeks, but it’s just learning off Issac while he’s still here and trying to improve week to week so I can become a regular first-grader,” said McInnes.

“I’m in a good position having him (Issac) here because I can learn off him every week.”

The Rabbitohs will take on the St George Illawarra Dragons at the SCG next Saturday night at 7:30pm. Click here to purchase your tickets.
