As they say Friday night’s a great night for football! Coming up against the old enemy – Manly – tonight, I’m sure we’ll take the chance to show the ability that we know we have.

If Stewart lines up we will have two lots of brothers going up against each other. Glenn v Brett and the Burgess twins v older brother Luke. I am pretty sure that George and Tom will be looking forward to playing their brother, and with Reynolds back, fit and fresh, he will be looking to build on his return performance against the Tigers. All positives!

We had an off night against the Tigers in Round 14, but now is the time to put it right! Nothing worth having comes easy. But we have a fighting spirit that no doubt comes from our long history that includes getting back into the competition. It was a long, tedious, hard fight. But we prevailed!

We had to put together a team that was NRL worthy in no time at all and have them gel and compete. We went through halfbacks and combinations faster than Alex Johnston can run the field. We had it tough, but we kept at it.

After years of perseverance, we started to come good and began controlling games. We took time to reach the level we all knew our team could – and what a team it is now! People like Issac Luke, Greg Inglis, George and Thomas Burgess and of course our Coach, Michael Maguire.

We started to tackle harder, run faster, control the pace of games and best of all, score more tries than our opposition.

My point is, it was a long and hard journey. We earned many scars, jumped many hurdles and overcame an abundance of obstacles. But again, we prevailed We did all this because of hard work, great support, a dedicated team and pure faith in the Rabbit that sits over the heart of the red and green jersey.

I say again – hard work, dedication and support! Now we have something of which we can be, and are, immensely proud.

I am so proud of my team. We play hard, we do what we can for the win, and eventually, we prevail. Let’s do it against Manly tonight!
