Young Rabbitohs reporter Oliver Latham, who joined the Rabbitohs’ media team this week, conducted his first interview with Rabbitohs winger Alex Johnston ahead of this Friday Night’s clash with the Sea Eagles at ANZ Stadium.

Many factors are setting the stage for a huge game against Manly this Friday night at ANZ Stadium, with Rabbitohs winger Alex Johnston pointing to last week’s bye as the perfect freshener in preparation for the match.

“(The bye) gave us a bit of time to freshen up and get a (Few) good training (sessions) in this week”, says Johnston.

“The week off has definitely helped the team prepare for Manly.”

The strong rivalry – born in 1947 and galvanised during a number of fiery Grand Final appearances over the decades, is set to explode once more in the NRL arena this Friday night when the two sides meet for the 135th time.

“It’s always been a good rivalry between the clubs,” says Johnston.

”It’s going to be a big game and we have to play our best to get the win.”

The other vital ingredient added to the mix this Friday is South’s large Membershuo base at ANZ Stadium – Johnston agreeing that the backing of Members and supporters is just what his side needs.

“When we play at ANZ that’s our home and we love it when the fans get out there,” said Johnston

“(The fans) create a winning atmosphere – we will get out there and perform and feed on their energy.”
