Souths cares delivered their Oral Health Program in Tamworth and Gunnedah on Wednesday with over 400 students benefiting.
Rabbitohs legends Nathan Merritt and Rhys Wesser delivered the program outlining the five key points including; Eat Well, Play Well, Stay Well, Drink Well and Clean Well through three stations in the form of the Oral Health Program, Mobile Dentist Van, Footy clinic.
“Being here in Tamworth & Gunnedah in the schools delivering the oral health program has been great,” said Merritt.
“Getting the message out to the students to look after their bodies and their health is what this program is all about so it’s a great thing to be a part of.”
Souths Cares General Manager Brock Schaefer has been impressed by the level of expertise and enthusiasm exhibited by Souths Cares’ partners in the program, as well as the level of professionalism of his team.
“I've been exceptionally pleased by the professionalism and expertise of the Souths Cares team and our partners at the Poche Centre, the NSW Centre for Oral Health Strategy and Lisa Fitzgerald from the Local Health District,” said Brock.
“A great addition to this trip has been our Grants and Evaluation Manager, Angus Robilliard,” continued Brock.
“Angus has delivered a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation framework to measure the knowledge gained by students as well as the return on investment for our partners and donors.
“This is obviously an essential part of what we’re about at Souths Cares – ensuring that the positive messages we talk about are delivered effectively. With the help of dedicated people like Angus and the rest of the team, we’re able to do so.”
