Beating the Titans in the fashion that we did last week showed the character of our team – level heads, not getting away from ourselves and simply doing the job right.
The Titans have a fast team who are pretty good at throwing the ball around which saw them score a few good tries, but helped us force the errors when we got in their faces. It was a positive and valuable win that I’m sure will lay the platform against the Warriors this week in Perth.
Before I touch on our trip over to Perth though, I want to talk about Greg Inglis.
Backing up from having tonsillitis and playing in Origin I to put on the fireworks on the Gold Coast was more than amazing. It was inspirational. It showed what the man is truly capable of. We know he is physically tough, but his mental toughness to keep on keeping on is amazing. He is a smart, fearless and fair player who I think we can all agree we are proud to call our Captain.
Now we can talk Perth. This is going to be a fiery game I think. They are on the same amount of points as us and are ready to go.
The Warriors also have a nice sized pack and they are super fit. They have fast outside men and their Golden Boot winning playmaker, Shaun Johnson, who controls the troops. They have had two nail- biters in the past fortnight and have come out on top, so this will be far from a walk in the park.
We get great support in Perth. Many red and green followers turn out and cheer on our boys in WA. I’m sure that they will fire our boys up so they can fly back across Australia as winners.
It’s time to show what we’re really capable of. If this game is anywhere near as good as our last visit to Perth, we’ll have a cracker on our hands!
