The Rabbitohs and the Eels have fought out a 26 all draw at ANZ Stadium this evening in wet conditions at ANZ Stadium in Round 11.

The Rabbitohs looked well in control early in second half when they led by 26-6, but a late fightback from the spirited Eels outfit saw them draw level in the dying minutes of the amtch.

A Parramatta mistake on the 20 metre line blew the visitors’ chance of enjoying a seven tackle set, but opened the door for Rabbitohs centre Irae Simone to cross out wide to open the scoring. Simone converted his own try to make it 6-0 in favour of the Rabbits.

South Sydney continued on with the momentum when an attacking raid down the right-hand side yielded a try to Josh Ellison, who powered over despite the better efforts of the Eels defence to make it 10-0.

Parramatta responded half-way through the opening stanza when late inclusion Josh Aloiai barged over to open Parramatta’s account. Fullback Nathan Davis converted by using the upright to guide the ball in, making it 10-6.

With the rain now coming down harder in the final five minutes of the opening stanza, the Rabbitohs steadied the ship and found the line again, this time through speedster, Damon Goolagong, on the opoosite flank to make it 14-6 going into the break.

It didn’t take long for the Rabbitohs to score in the second half, with halfback Eli Levido stepping his way through the Parramatta defence inside the first five minutes of the second stanza right next to the sticks. Levido added the extras to take Souths’ lead out to 20-6.

Mere minutes later, the men in red and green backed up their effort when Liam Coleman forced his way over under the sticks, with Levido adding the extras to make the score an impressive 26-6.

Parramatta were next to score though Denzel Tonise under the posts, with Davis making no mistake with his second attempt to make it 26-12, before Nathan Davis grabbed a four-pointer of his own with nine minutes left on the clock to make the difference 10 points at 26-16.

Parra backed it up mere minutes later when Tui Oloapu crossed just inside touch before Davis converted again before Suliasi Suli levelled the scores up, setting a pressure kick for Davis from the touch-line to take the lead. Davis’ kick amid tough conditions never had the height, leaving the score at 26 apiece to round out the match.
