Rabbitohs international forward, Thomas Burgess, says that getting his team’s defence right is high on the list of he and his teammates’ list of priorities ahead of Friday night’s match against Parramatta.

Despite going down to the Storm In Round 10 in Melbourne, the men in red and green took plenty from the match, including a defensive performance that saw Melbourne unable to score in the second stanza.

“Our defence is the biggest thing for us – we just want to get that right,” said Burgess.

“We’re not far off. We just need to keep training hard – that’s the main thing. This season, anyone can beat anyone. It doesn’t matter where you are in the table.

“You’re always a bit filthy after a loss, but you have got to grow from losses, you can’t dwell on them. You’ve got to take what you can from them and move on.”

Burgess will start from Michael Maguire’s bench this Friday night in what will be his 37th NRL appearance for the Club.
