It has been a tale of ups and downs these past few weeks – the brief return of Adam Reynolds mixed in with the return of John Sutton, Issac Luke moving on at the end of the year and the re-signing of Cameron McInnes and Alex Johnston. Throw in a win over the Dragons and it’s been a big few weeks.
I love so many things about Issac Luke and his game, his passion and the character he brings to the field. Since donning our colours, he has grown and become a household name who is full of entertainment. It’s an emotional time for us to see him go, but I am proud that he has put family first, and I can only wish him the very best in his move to NZ. No doubt Issac will be putting everything on the line from now until the end of his proud tenure in the red and green
Alex Johnston re-signing is fantastic for us. To keep him in our back three with GI will no doubt solidify our attack. Holding on to our juniors is important to me and Rabbitohs Members.
McInnes, a junior Kangaroo Captain, is another pure-bred Rabbitoh who I am thrilled to have at our Club. He has popped up for us a fair bit of late and has been pretty good. Once he gets the chance to gel with the rest of the team I am sure he will prove to be a magnificent addition.
Meanwhile, having Adam Reynolds out again is a real shame. Thankfully, with Sutton named in the halves we will have plenty of experience alongside Luke Keary, so I’m certainly looking forward to their partnership.
Beating St George was because we did it in South Sydney fashion – playing the full 80 minutes. We played the entire game, grinded it out, tired the Red V and out-muscled them at the end.
We have much to work on as a team. But we have the men, the drive and the coach to do what we’re capable of. If we stick to the plan and we get the bounce of the ball to go our way, we can achieve anything.
So let’s start by weathering the Storm and build up that momentum. A bit of Saturday night footy never hurt anyone!
Let’s go Rabbitohs!!!
