A Members Perspective - Rd 8, 2015
Against the Sharks, our discipline hurt us, but more than that, Cronulla got their basics right. They completed 90% of their sets and conceded just one penalty right up until the dying minutes of the match.
In weather like we saw on Monday, that is a golden effort that anyone would struggle against. We only lost by 8 and really, we didn’t play badly – I say that we’re growing.
So let’s look at Cairns. We are taking the Raiders up there for this battle so I am hoping that the warmer weather will hurt them, but since we have had such a wet and wild week I am hoping this will not affect us too badly.
Canberra had a controversial win against the Tigers last week and have plenty of improvement left in them. This match is an opportunity to get our basics right again – holding the ball, completing our sets and brushing up on discipline. Penalty count our way or not I hope to see us muscle up and take control again.
We have the man power, the fan power and the drive. So a note to those travelling to Cairns and those lucky enough to be up there donning our colours – warm up your voices!
Let’s go out there and put our best foot forward both on and off the field. Every two points in this close competition is gold and we need you guys to sing for us, cheer for us and carry on like crazy for us.
Bring those points back to this storm-ravaged city boys!.
