Rabbitohs prop-forward, George Burgess, says that his team needs to deliver the fluidity that’s being shown at training on the field.

The Rabbitohs went down to the Sharks on Monday night in torrid weather conditions, but Burgess dismissed those conditions as a factor.

“These things happen in Rugby League,” said Burgess.

“You get the good conditions and bad conditions. At the end of the day both teams have to deal with it and we didn’t do it last night. We didn’t go out there and get the performance we needed.

“We take every loss hard because we pride ourselves on the little things that we do right within games – we’ve been doing them really well in training. It’s just about delivering on the field.

While the result didn’t go Souths’ way, both George and Thomas Burgess celebrated their birthday today (Tuesday) George begrudgingly admitting that Thomas is older, by a mere 15 minutes.

“I’ve just turned 23 today mate,” said Burgess.

“Tommy’s got me – he’s got 15 minutes on me so I think I’ll have to wait 15 minutes until I celebrate.”
