Rabbitohs centre, Daryl Millard, says that only a united team effort will serve to nullify the Cowboys and their Test play-maker Johnathan Thurston.

“We’ve sort of all got to work together as a team,” said Millard.

“That might sound like a cliché thing to say, but we’re working on our defence real hard and helping each other out in those little areas is sort of where we can stop him.”

After arriving at the Club on a ‘train and trial’ basis during the off-season, Millard has found himself in the Rabbitohs centres filling in for injured Test-centre, Dylan Walker.

“When I signed at the Club, I didn’t really know when I’d get an opportunity,” admitted Millard.

“I thought I’d get an opportunity but probably not this early in the season."
