Michael Maguire was on the receiving end of an April Fools prank at this morning’s media session, with the Rabbitohs Head Coach being told of ‘rumours’ that Greg Inglis was going to the NFL.

Despite his obvious surprise by the tongue-in-cheek suggestions, ever the professional, Maguire responded in characteristic fashion before the journalists came clean – Madge admitting that he’d fallen for it.

“Geez you come up with some – I haven’t heard that one,” Maguire said with a laugh when first told.

“That’s new, but Greg’s pretty focussed on what he needs to do here, so enough has been said around that one.”

The Rabbitohs mentor said that he and his team had learnt plenty out of last Friday’s loss to the Parramatta Eels – the side’s first loss of the season.

Maguire suggested that a back-to-basics approach was required in order to bounce back from the defeat in this Good Friday clash against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium.

“We learnt a lot out of that game last Friday,” said Maguire.

“I think for us now it’s really (about) understanding the processes around the things we do well, and that’s what we’ve looked at this week and we’re looking forward to doing that on Friday.”
