Greg Inglis has sounded out two key areas of the Rabbitohs game that needs improvement – discipline and possession.

The Rabbitohs took on a resurgent Eels side at Parramatta on Friday night, and while pleased with his team’s overall start to the season, Inglis said that the Rabbitohs weren’t up to the team’s usual high standards against the blue and golds.

“They’re the two main factors that played a part – we just lost our way a bit,” said Inglis.

“Coming into this year, we solely focussed on ourselves and obviously we pay a lot of respect to our oppositions, but at the end of the day we just didn’t play to our standards.

“That’s what matters most to us as a team.”

The result highlighted the need to the men in red and green, the need to show up each week.

“We’ve just got to show up every week,” said Inglis.

“I think it was just one of those weeks where it didn’t happen for us.”
