Rabbitohs back-rower, Chris McQueen said that his team is hungry heading in to this Sunday’s blockbuster Ron Coote Cup clash against the Sydney Roosters at ANZ Stadium.

The Queensland Origin representative was impressed by the Roosters’ round one performance that saw the side come away with a 28-4 victory over the North Queensland Cowboys in steamy conditions in Townsville.

“They looked sharp,” said McQueen.

“I only caught a little bit of the game, but they looked really good. They’ve had a couple of really good years – they’ve been minor premiers two years in a row, so we’re definitely aware of what they can do.

“We know that we’re going to have to be on this week.”

The Rabbitohs will take on the Sydney Roosters in their first home game of the season at ANZ Stadium on Sunday, 15 March at 4pm. Tickets are available now through Ticketek.
