The South Sydney Rabbitohs and the Wigan Warriors will hold a joint open training session at the Warriors’ High Performance Training Centre in Orrell, UK, this Wednesday 18th February.
The unique event will allow fans to see both teams train together ahead of their respective World Club Series and Challenge games – Wigan against the Brisbane Broncos and the Rabbitohs against St. Helens.
Both teams have previously trained together at Redfern Oval in Sydney, with Warriors Director, Kris Radlinski explaining that South Sydney accommodated the UK club during their preparations for last year’s World Club Challenge against the Roosters.
"The Rabbitohs were very accommodating with us when they hosted us for a training session ahead of last year's World Club Challenge in Sydney.
"With our former coach Michael Maguire in charge, the Rabbitohs are aware of how good the facilities are here at Orrell and we were more than happy to return the favour by hosting them.
"The day will not only give both sides the opportunity to prepare themselves for the World Club Series but will also give fans a great insight into how players train for big games."
Entry will cost £3 per person, with proceeds going to the Wigan Warriors Community Foundation Charity.
Gates will open at the High Performance Training Centre from 10.15am with the session due to start at 11am and lasting for approximately 90 minutes. Fans will be able to watch the full training session from the Main Stand where unreserved seating will be available. Coaches from both sides will give fans live commentary and insights into what is going on during the session.
