Matt King made a fairy tale comeback to the rugby league field in the Auckland Nines, scoring the winning try of the match to take out the tournament.

After a nerve-wracking ten minutes of golden-try extra time, the Rabbitohs had seemingly thrown everything they could at the Cronulla line, but the Sharks’ defence held strong. But leave it to Matt King to make a difference.

Returning to the field after a year in retirement, King could hardly have imagined that he would go on to the winning try on the back of a spurr of the moment short-side play.

You can see more action just like this, live at ANZ Stadium this Saturday night, when the Rabbitohs take on the Dragons in the 32nd Annual Charity Shield at 7:35pm! Be part of the story as your men in red and green return to their home for the first time since winning the 2014 NRL Premiership!
