Rabbitohs Auckland Nines skipper, Issac Luke, spoke to prior to his team’s departure to New Zealand.

Luke has made no secret of his desire to be a part of the reduced format game, even admitting to pestering Head Coach Michael Maguire on a regular basis to ensure he got a start.

Now, Luke will lead the team out tomorrow at Eden Park when the Rabbitohs take on the Panthers, Storm and defending champions, the Cowboys.

“It’s going to be good,” said Luke.

“I’ll be able to do it in front of my family back home – it’s going to be a huge honour and something I’ve been looking forward to for a while.

“Last year I got to witness it and this year I get to be a part of it,” said Luke.

“Last year it was massive and apparently this year it’s going to be bigger, so I’m looking forward to it. It’s awesome to play at home.”
