We look at the top five moments on Rabbitohs TV in 2014 as the Club marched on towards our 21st Premiership. Kicking off our list at number five, is our nod to Twitter & the 1970 Grand Final.

The imaginative piece attracted the attention of the mainstream media, with Triple M’s Dan Ginnane discussing the piece live on air with NRL.com’s Nigel Wall – both praising the video.

“We’ve got to tip our hats to the Rabbitohs media team who came up with this great idea,” said Wall.

“They’ve had a look at the iconic 1970 Grand Final and overlayed a Titter feed onto highlights of the game, to get a representation of how the social media commentary in that clash might have looked had Twitter existed 43 years ago.

“It’s great stuff, there’s cracking hashtags and mock player handles – it’s well worth a look at.”

Today, South Sydney’s Digital Media Team live-tweet all your Rabbitohs games, meaning you can follow the boys’ progress even when you’re well away from more traditional methods of keeping in touch. Social media has brought the game and your involvement in the conversation directly to your pocket, wherever you are!

So take a journey back to the 1970’s by pressing play on the video player.
