Rabbitohs Premiership winning prop, David Tyrrell, has this week been selected in the Queensland State of Origin Emerging Squad for 2015.
The prop joins an impressive array of NRL talent in the squad, including the likes of Jake Friend, Ben Hunt and Anthony Milford.
Tyrrell was the only player to play every game during the 2014 season for the Rabbitohs – 27 matches – with only Sam Burgess and Adam Reynolds playing one game less during the campaign.
Without doubt a highlight for Tyrrell during the season was his round 13 performance in Perth against the New Zealand Warriors, where the 27 year old grabbed a rare try-scoring double in a victory that showed the true grit of his side under a mounting injury toll.
Tyrrell averaged 60.4 metres with the ball in hand and 21.2 tackles, making 13 tackle breaks and two line-breaks on his way to a Premiership ring.
Congratulations to Dave on his selection in the squad.
