The South Sydney Rabbitohs are mourning the passing of Mr Albert Webster, known as ‘Bert’, on Tuesday 18 November.

Mr Webster was the second oldest surviving first grade player from the South Sydney Club prior to his passing, becoming the 266th player to play first grade when he made his debut against Newtown at Earl Park in round ten of the 1939 season as a teenager.

Mr Webster played 16 first grade games amongst his 27 grade games for the Club, and was a regular attendee at the South Sydney Players Association reunions in recent years.

Mr Webster was 94 years of age when he passed.

Mr Webster’s funeral will be held at the St Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Rose Bay on Tuesday 25 November at 9:30am.
