Want to be part of a world record? Now you can be thanks to Rabbitohs under 20’s Coaching Assistant, Liam Zollo, and his bid to break the current record of 387 people doing simultaneous burpees for one minute this Saturday (November 15), with all proceeds going to the Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick.

“We’re doing it to help the kids, but also to inspire young people and kids to get into shape,” said Zollo of the venture.

“Fitness and getting fit is an endorphin release so it’s a great way to encourage discipline and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Add in the record element and there’s extra incentive to be part of something big.

“To be able to do it for a good cause as well – for the Sydney Children’s Hospital – makes it pretty special, so we hope to see as many people down there as possible.”

The attempt is set to be made at Maroubra Sports Club, the same venue where Zollo managed to procure another record just one year ago, when more than 450 boxers turned out to set a new record for the world’s biggest boxing fitness class – 450 boxers between six and 60 taking part in the class to break the previous record by 250 people.
