It’s the toughest time of year for a reason and Rabbitohs halfback Adam Reynolds knows it. With pre-season training about to get underway, Reynolds has stressed the importance of the period on shaping the side’s season.

“We like to train pretty tough here and hard,” said Reynolds.

“It definitely shapes our mentality for the rest of the year. It’s a tough time to keep your body in shape and ready for a long season.”

It’s no secret that pre-season training under Head Coach Michael Maguire is a challenge, and this year will be no different. The side will jet off to Arizona this Sunday to tackle a high altitude training camp as part of their preparations – an experience Reynolds has had when a small group of players made the trip for the 2014 season.

“It’s always a tough time,” said Reynolds of the pre-season.

“It’s always hard on the body, but in saying that it’s good to get back in amongst the players here.

“I miss being away from the playing group and I’m excited to see the new faces coming into the squad.”

Reynolds will be returning fresh to the training paddock this week after whirlwind Premiership celebrations that took him and teammates as far as Las Vegas.

“The celebrations were unreal,” said Reynolds.

“I got to go over to Vegas with a few of the teammates and experience a different lifestyle over there, so it was good fun.

“Getting back over here brought me back down to earth pretty quickly and back to father duties.”
