The South Sydney Rabbitohs aren’t the only Rabbitohs making waves on rugby league fields, with the Czech Rabbitohs from Chrudim through to the CZRLA Grand Final to be played next weekend in Beroun following an impressive season.
For the third successive year in the Czech League, Lokomotiva Beroun took out the minor premiership, and will be looking to add to their trophy cabinet against the red and greens. The minor premiers’ only loss of the season came at the hands of the Chrudim Rabbitohs, whose impressive season saw them lose just one game and draw another to come second overall.
The Rabbitohs are in the box seat to claim victory in the Grand Final having beaten Beroun in three out of three matches this year, including regular season games, nines clashes and knock-outs.
The two sides clashed most recently in a knock-out series that was a dress rehearsal to the upcoming Grand Final, culminating in a Rabbitohs win at Beroun.
Chrudim, were established in 2011 and came to the attention of South Sydney when Rabbitohs CEO Shane Richardson was a guest of the CZRLA at their annual awards night last year.
The team was subsequently re-branded as the Rabbitohs as part of a strategic partnership to grow the game internationally.
