The 2014 Rabbitohs team is a team full of absolute champions. Individually, each and every player that is taking the field on Friday night is robust and qualified. They are all talents who have paved their own paths by being professional, dedicated and focused. However, as a team, they are even better.

It is by far the best team we have fielded in recent memory and the very best coach we have witnessed in a long, long time. Everyone involved in Souths, whether it be the players, the coaching staff, the staff, the Members, all of us are hungry. Every part of the Rabbitohs Family is coming together for this moment.

But we have a tough task ahead. We are not just coming up against any old team, we are coming up against the minor premiers, who also just so happen to be our biggest adversaries ever! No matter what happens, it will be an emotional game.

All week I have not gone an hour without thinking about this game – thinking about what my possible reaction would be at full time. Will I cry? Will I be in shock? Will I party? Only time (80 minutes to be exact) will tell.

Now, what are you looking forward to seeing? Is it Sam Burgess v SBW? Is it Issac Luke scooting from dummy half to make every centimetre he possibly can in favour of us? Is it our young, fresh backs who are jumping out of their skins to show us what they can bring to finals footy? Whatever it is you are looking forward to, I sure hope our boys can pull it off.

I would also like to thank Nathan Merritt. Words simply are not enough to explain how brilliant he has been for our team. He has pulled off some incredible performances for us and has flabbergasted us in so many ways. The field goal at the SCG against the Tigers from the wing; the NRL top try scorer in a year where we received the spoon; the all-time top try scorer for the Rabbitohs, full-stop – so many moments!

His name is etched into Rabbitohs history, his heart beats Glory Glory, and he has been a pivotal player in our resurgence. If we can take out this season, a huge slice of the thanks belongs to this man. And if every player that dons the Red and Green could have just a quarter of his passion for our club we will be a very lucky team. It has been a privilege to watch your career Nathan and I wish you all the best. Thank you for loving the Red and Green.

Now, get excited! Let the blood pressure rise and the passion overflow.

Up the MIGHTY Rabbitohs!
