Rabbitohs forward Kyle Turner fronted the rugby league media this week ahead of Thursday night’s blockbuster against the Sydney Roosters in round 26’s Ron Coote Cup.

The back-row young-gun is fully expecting a giant battle in the middle of the field against the Rooster come kick-off at Allianz Stadium, with Turner citing the need for a full 80 minute performance.

“There’s always those battles up front with the big boys,” said Turner.

“That’s just how the game is – it’s very tight and you’ve pretty much got to play 80 minutes of football to win the game.”

Turner will take his place alongside Chris McQueen and Sam Burgess at the back of the Rabbitohs’ scrum.

After making his debut in round three of the 2014 season, Turner has gone on to cement his place in the Rabbitohs’ starting line-up with his high work-rate, stinging defence and ability to make good yards.
