High Performance Manager, Troy Thomson, updates us on the casualty ward at the Rabbitohs in this week’s ALCATEL ontouch High Performance Update.
After a bruising encounter with the Bulldogs on Thursday night, Thomson provides updates on everyone from Sam Burgess, Greg Inglis, and Chris McQueen – all of whom felt the effects of the clash.
“Quite a physical game on Thursday night there against the Bulldogs as it always is with such a big pack that they’ve got,” said Thomson.
“As Sam always does, he throws his body around a fair bit. He had a few big clashes there – he knocked knees there at one stage and got a bit of swelling, so that was causing a lot of that limping.
“Also got a cork – and got his ribs jammed up as well and also just tweaked that shoulder as well. So a tough night at the office for Sam. But thankfully all of those are just bumps and bruises.”
Greg Inglis had a hip complaint during the course of the match, but Thomson assured the fullback will be raring to go on Thursday night.
“At recovery on Friday morning, he pulled up really well so he trained with us well on Saturday and he’ll be right to go.”
The High Performance Manager also provides an update on Captain, John Sutton, who is pushing ever closer to a return to the field.
“He’s done a fantastic job with his rehab and the physio’s were working really hard there,” said Thomson.
“He ran on Saturday as well for us. We’ll get him out there doing a little bit more today and tick off a few of those boxes and hopefully get him there right on Thursday night.”
