Rabbitohs prop forward, George Burgess, will make his return to the field this Thursday night against the Bulldogs after serving a two match suspension.

For Burgess, his time on the sideline was a well-utilised, with the massive forward using the time to get his body right following a series of solid performances.

“I’m feeling pretty good,” said Burgess.

“It’s good for the body obviously to have a couple of weeks off. Now I’m feeling refreshed and I’m pretty excited to get back in the team this week.”

Burgess will resume his position in the Rabbitohs’ front row, partnering Dave Tyrrell, with twin brother Thomas reverting to the bench following his own string of hefty work-loads as George’s replacement.

The Rabbitohs will take on a resurgent Bulldogs outfit that accounted for the Wests Tigers convincingly by 30-10 in round 24.

“They’re a team that tend to hit their straps at this time of the year,” said Burgess.

“They’ve been there or thereabouts the last couple of years, so they know how to play at this time of the year.”
