Rabbitohs lock-forward, Sam Burgess, spoke of his desire to win at Redfern Oval this week, ahead of Thursday night’s all-important clash with the Bulldogs.

While Saturday night saw the Rabbitohs go down to the North Queensland Cowboys, Burgess put in another solid performance, amassing 128 metres and making 42 tackles.

“I just want to win every game that we play in,” said Burgess.

“No different on Saturday night. I wanted to win – we lost, so we’ll review that game and see where we went wrong.

“We’ve got the Bulldogs on Thursday, and we want to do our best as a team for that.

“We’ve got a short turn-around – we’ll just do our best.”

Following the Rabbitohs’ last home game of the season on Saturday night, Burgess spent time with Members and supporters long after full-time, shaking hands and posing for photographs in what was the lock-forward’s last regular season home-game with the Club.

“To play in front of our home Members for the last time in the rounds – it was pretty cool, but unfortunately we didn’t get the win,” said Burgess.

“We’ve got the Bulldogs on Thursday night who are certainly going to be well prepared. They’ve been in some great form not only the last few weeks, but the last few years, so we’ve got a tough ask on Thursday.”
