When Dylan Walker last laced on the boots in Cairns, the Rabbitohs young-gun produced what would go on to be awarded the Club’s try of the season in 2013.

But while the try bore his name, the Rabbitohs centre hasn’t changed his mind about the try being a team effort, after no less than six of his teammates threw the ball around before the Souths Junior would eventually touch down. The try would be one of the deciding factors in the Rabbitohs’ 30 points to 24 win over the Titans, in the Rabbitohs’ home game in Cairns.

Walker spoke to the rugby league media this week about the try that would go on to feature among many highlights reels for the 2013 season.

“I didn’t have to do much on that four-pointer,” laughed Walker.

“I think there was about ten passes between it – all I had to do was catch the ball and put it down.”

Walker expects this Sunday’s game at Barlow Park in Cairns to produce plenty more exciting moments as the Rabbitohs look to make it three in a row this weekend, having accounted for the Parramatta Eels and Canberra Raiders in consecutive weeks.

Walker told the media that he is enjoying his football this season, particularly playing outside halves such as Adam Reynolds and off the back of the Club’s hard-working forward-pack.

“I’m enjoying my time out there,” said Walker.

“Obviously playing outside Reyno (Adam Reynolds), Ben Te’o and playing off the back of the forwards – it’s always good and it’s a bonus. I’m just really enjoying my time at the moment and having fun.”
