Rabbitohs forward and former Raider, Joe Picker, says that Canberra are a dangerous outfit ahead of tonight’s round 20 clash against the green machine in the nation’s capital.

“I reckon they’ve been dangerous for countless years now,” said Picker.

“You never know what’s going to happen with them – obviously when they’re at home, they start strong, so we’re going to have to turn up and do a job.”

The Raiders boast formidable attacking power that will test the Rabbitohs defence on the fringes, in the form of Anthony Milford and Terry Campese – both of whom are capable of blowing the game wide open.

But for Picker and his teammates, tonight’s match is all about them, with the side looking to build on their round 19 win against the Eels as the regular season begins to wind down.

“You want to sort of finish the regular season strong,” said Picker.

“I suppose we’re just going to use every game from now til (round) 26 as a building step and hopefully finish the year strong and work into the finals.”
