Rabbitohs Members in Cairns say they will make ‘a real big noise’ when their team travels to the tropical paradise for the Club’s round 21 game against the Newcastle Knights at Barlow Park.

For young mum and Rabbitohs Member, Kate Heath, the thought of seeing her team in her own backyard is exciting, given that she will watch the game with her children as well as her own Rabbitohs-mad mother.

“My kids are excited,” said Kate Heath.

“My mum is a very vocal supporter, and I think that probably helped with my enthusiasm.

“The best thing about being at a live game for me is the start when they call your team out and you see all the boys run onto the field and just that adrenalin.”

The Rabbitohs enjoyed overwhelming support in Cairns in 2013 when the side made the trip to take on the Gold Coast Titans – a match they won.

Kathi Searle is another proud Cairns Rabbitoh who spoke of the feeling of family among Members and supporters.

“Being a Rabbitohs Member and a supporter – it’s like you belong to a huge, big family,” said Kathi.

“Everybody knows everybody, and there’s a huge connection out there which just feels like, even though we’re all individuals, we are one.”

The match will see some of the NRL’s best talent come to a tropical setting for the second year running this season – an event which Kathi added will be unforgettable.

“People can bring their kids, and for them it’ll just be something that they’ll never ever forget.”
