The Rabbitohs Family is in mourning today following news that the grandson of South Sydney and rugby league legend Harold Horder, Howard and his wife Susan Horder, were among the 298 on board Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17.

Howard and Susan, who lived in Queensland, are survived by their three children, Mathew, David and Adam, as well as two grandchildren.

The Horder name has been permanently entwined into the history of South Sydney and rugby league, thanks to the rare talents of Harold Horder, who plied his trade as a winger of considerable speed and talent between the 1912 and 1924 seasons, winning two Premierships with the Club (1914 and 1918), while also earning Test honours. Horder retired in 1924 with the rare distinction of having never played a lower-grade match.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs Family would like to extend their deepest sympathies to the Horder family for their loss.
