I am sure Members and fans would be feeling down about these past weeks, but let’s look to the positives. The Cowboys loss – we were bombarded in the first 10 minutes yet held them out for the second half,  and against the Titans, we played poorly and only lost by four!

Yes, we made an abundance of errors against the Titans – we just weren’t ourselves. It was hard to watch, especially with so many penalties. I’m sure the boys will use the break to regroup. We need to settle back into our grind and I am praying that we just settle ourselves.

So how do we get back in the right gear? Firstly stop dropping the ball. It is an unforgiving mistake and a simple slip of the fingers can lose a game. Secondly, we need to stop giving away penalties. A disciplined South Sydney – like we usually are – is by far the best. We also need repeat sets! We need to start putting the pressure back on our opposition and not ourselves.

Speaking of pressure, we have to not let them put it on us. We know we have a good team and we know  that we have been the most successful when we have a level head, so it’s time to get the basics right and play the game with no other intention but to pocket the two points.

The business end is here. There is nowhere to hide, no stalling. Every point, every tackle, every drop of sweat is one step closer to our goal. Let’s gain the upper hand and capitalise! It may be easier said than done, but a stadium packed with red and green fans willing this to happen can only help our boys across that line!

The louder we are, the further they strive. Positivity and belief is how we help our boys get back on track. Recharge your batteries during the bye, because we are about to be catapulted into the business end of the season, and it’s going to be tough.

Bring it on I say! Up the Mighty Rabbitohs!
