Rabbitohs forward Jason Clark is certain that despite both the Rabbitohs and Titans missing their Origin stars, both teams will be firing and raring to go come Monday night.
With the Origin period forcing NRL clubs to re-think their line-ups for the mid-season representative centre-piece, Clark and his Rabbitohs have taken the changes in their stride by simply focussing on their own game.
The Rabbitohs will be without Origin player Chris McQueen through injury, while Greg Inglis and Ben Te’o will again line up for the Maroons in Game III. For Clark, the chopping and changing at club level is just part of the experience.
“That’s part of Origin,” said Clark.
“Teams always change and you don’t really want to pay much attention to that. You want to sort of stay away from that and just worry about yourselves more than anything. They’re great players, but I’m sure the Titans will bring in some good players to cover that.”
The Rabbitohs will be looking to get back in the winners’ circle this week after going down to the Cowboys in Townsville in round 16 in what amounted to a first half ambush. For Clark, the experience was one that the Rabbitohs will take plenty from.
“You’ve got to take a lot out of a loss – as much as a win,” said Clark.
“You just build on it, and learn from it.
