As the winter cold sets in, the South Sydney Rabbitohs will be joining the teams at McGrath Estate Agents and the Salvation Army, bringing some warmth to Australia’s homeless by throwing their support behind ‘Coats for Everyone’ – a call to the Rabbitohs Family to donate a coat to keep someone warm.

‘Coats for Everyone’ is the vision of long-time McGrath agent, Bernadette Berlyn, who experienced a bitterly cold night last year when partaking in the CEO Sleepout.

Bernadette mentioned her idea of providing coats to the homeless to John McGrath, who encouraged her to progress her idea, and he has also thrown his company’s support behind the concept.

Over 105,000 people are homeless across Australia – 28,190 in New South Wales, with an estimated 150-350 people sleeping in inner Sydney parks and streets on any given night.

You can help keep them warm this winter by donating a coat at the South Sydney Rabbitohs Merchandise store on Level 4, 261-265 Chalmers Street, Redfern, NSW 2016.

As a token of appreciation for your support, everyone that donates a coat at the Rabbitohs store will receive 10% off* a new Rabbitohs jacket or hoodie from the Rabbitohs Shop (conditions apply).

The Salvation Army will distribute all coats donated to the residents of various social service centres throughout Sydney and its surrounds.

All styles of winter coats will be accepted, the only criteria being that they are clean and in good condition, so spread the warmth by donating!

Please ensure that donations are clean and in good condition, and for convenience, coats can also be dropped off at all McGrath office locations, Salvation Army locations, and the drop-off box at Martin Place in Sydney from 1-4 July.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs ‘Coats for Everyone’ donation box will run from Tuesday 1 July to Friday 4 July 2014.

*10% discount valid in store only. Purchase must be made on the same day as coat donation. Excludes Member’s exclusive Stormtech Jacket. Offer valid until 4 July 2014.
