Rabbitohs and rugby league officials aren’t exempt from being swept up in the excitement in Perth this weekend, with WARL CEO John Sackson, Rabbitohs CEO Shane Richardson and NRL Head of Football Todd Greenberg predicting a classic.

“Most people are predicting this to be the game of the round,” said Sackson.

“We know that last year’s game was an absolute classic, and in fact again – I quote the media from last year – in many people’s eyes that was the game of the year last year in terms of the regular season.”

Speaking at yesterday’s Rabbitohs open training session at nib Stadium, NRL Head of Football Todd Greenberg urged people to head out to nib to snap up tickets for what promises to be a follow-up to last year’s epic.

“It’s going to be spectacular here,” said Greenberg.

“It’s a small, little colosseum and I’m told that there are still some tickets here on the gate, but you better get here quickly!"

For Rabbitohs CEO Shane Richardson, it’s all about the on-field action, citing that tonight’s game is all about bringing the best to the west.

“Everything that’s great about rugby league is here,” said Richardson.

“Ferocious forwards, excitement in the backs, a great day out – it’s going to be wonderful weather. If you don’t get out along to this, you’re going to miss out on a great game.”

The South Sydney Rabbitohs will take on the New Zealand Warriors this Saturday 7 June in round 13 at Perth’s nib Stadium – the Rabbitohs’ Western Australian home. To purchase tickets, please click here.
