Rabbitohs back-rower Kyle Turner praised this week’s opposition, the Warriors, pointing out that the New Zealand outfit will be a good challenge for himself and his Rabbitohs teammates.

Boasting players the likes of Simon Mannering, Konrad Hurrell and Shaun Johnson – among others –  the Warriors pose a threat to the Rabbitohs as they look to continue their good form into round 13.

“They’re actually a great side,” said Turner.

“They’ve got a big forward pack, some agile, mobile backs and it’ll be a good challenge for us – we’re just focussing on us and hopefully we can control them.”

Although currently sitting in fourth position after Monday night’s victory over the Dragons, Turner isn’t getting carried away, citing that there’s still plenty of football to be played this season.

“I wouldn’t get too comfortable,” said Turner.

“There’s still a long part of the season to go and it’s a very close competition – we went from eleventh to fourth in one game, so anything can happen.”

The South Sydney Rabbitohs will take on the New Zealand Warriors this Saturday 7 June in round 13 at Perth’s nib Stadium – the Rabbitohs’ Western Australian home. To purchase tickets, please click here.
