Fourth! Now that’s looking more like it. Still only two wins behind first and with our controller back in the driver’s seat – Issac Luke – things are on the up.

However, even though we won and we have learned how to play for 80 minutes, we didn’t seem to be at our best. Now, this may be a good thing and it may be a bad thing. Why good? Well, if we are winning games without bringing our flair, then we are in a pretty good position. Maybe we are holding off. Maybe we will ‘bring it’ at the right time this year. Maybe we just haven’t hit our straps yet.  Either way, we are sitting pretty on the table for now, but need to keep the win ratio up because it is such a tight season.

We have the Warriors this week. They are at the heavy end of the ladder but have a red-hot chance every week. If they string together some good sets, they can beat any opposition. The Bulldogs, Manly and Penrith are all within an arms-reach from us. Manly and the Bulldogs are playing each other, so if we can beat the Warriors, the gap will shorten.

Having the game in Perth and giving the Warriors a very long flight there is promising for us, but it’s down to our boys bringing their A game and producing some serious attack. We can defend, we can make metres, we can dominate – we just need to lift.

Every week when I write, the same names seem to come up; Inglis, the Burgess boys, Sutton, and when he has played, Issac Luke. I am hoping we produce some electricity in this game. Almost all our puzzle pieces are complete. We just need to bring that spark in our attack! Our wingers and centres have to bring it. Walker needs to step it up with his slicing runs, Reddy needs to keep churning out the tries like last week, and Inglis needs to bring his aggression.

So let’s do it Rabbitohs! Perth is in for a show, because a win now is essential. I am ready to jump out of my skin and scream the boys over the line. We win this game and we can ride the top of the wave all the way to the pointy end. Bring your excitement Rabbitohs!

I keep saying it, but I think the best is yet to come! Up the Mighty Rabbitohs!
