Rabbitohs back-rower Ben Te’o is looking forward to heading back to the Club’s Western Australian home in Perth this week, in preparation for this Saturday’s clash with the New Zealand Warriors at nib Stadium.
A ground-record of 20,221 Members and supporters flocked to the Perth venue to witness the battle between the Rabbitohs and Warriors in 2013, and Te’o – now fresh from Queensland Origin camp – is looking forward to having the experience again in 2014.
“I’m looking forward to Perth,” said Te’o.
“I’m not looking forward to the flight but I’m looking forward to getting over there. It’s a great spectacle and a great stadium (nib Stadium) and I love going over there.”
Te’o was back in Rabbitohs camp this week following last Wednesday night’s epic, opening Origin encounter – the representative forward racking up 116 metres with the ball in hand for the red and greens, while also making an impressive 30 tackles.
Te’o admitted that the Rabbitohs are improving after a slow start to season 2014, now coming off two consecutive wins – first against the Sharks and then over the Dragons. But all attention has now turned to the Warriors and their talented roster.
“We’re going alright, we’ve certainly improved since the start of the year,” said Te’o.
“They (the Warriors) have got a great forward pack, they’re a very physical team. I’m sure the game’s going to very tight – they’re going to tighten up and there’s going to be some big impacts.
The South Sydney Rabbitohs will take on the New Zealand Warriors this Saturday 7 June in round 13 at Perth’s nib Stadium – the Rabbitohs’ Western Australian home. To purchase tickets, please click here.
