Former Matraville Sports High School student, Kelly Geddes, is now giving back to the School to Work Transition Program that helped her stay at school and complete her Higher School Certificate.

This week Kelly commenced her traineeship with Souths Cares as an Administration Assistant where she finds herself assisting students who are in the same position she was just last year.

In her new role Kelly will be working closely with Souths Cares mentor and NRL legend, Rhys Wesser, whose job is to guide his cohort of 50 students along the sometimes tricky pathway from school to either employment or education.

“Souths Cares are very excited to have Kelly on board as she has successfully completed the Program and is in a great position to both assist other students and us here at Souths Cares,” Rhys said.

“Kelly’s traineeship will include formal training provided by NSW TAFE as well as practical, on-the-job training,” Rhys concluded.

The School to Work Transition Program is funded by the Federal Government.
