Rabbitohs Captain John Sutton fronted the rugby league media today (Wednesday) ahead of the Club’s round nine clash with the Gold Coast Titans this Saturday.

The Rabbitohs skipper cited the representative week break was an advantage for his side following a bruising opening to the 2014 season.

"We were a bit battered after the first few rounds," said Sutton.

"The boys are feeling good and we're excited for a big game this week."

"I think it came at a good time for us, with a couple of niggling injuries to the boys. It was good to refresh before a tough game this week against the Titans."

The Rabbitohs come into the match having accounted for the Brisbane Broncos in thrilling fashion in round eight - but Sutton is conscious of the need for his side to improve following a nail-biting performance.

"It was a game that we started off really well," said the Rabbitohs skipper.

"We let them back in the game which is something we've made a habit of the last few years, but to come back and claw out the win was really good."
