There’s sure to be some commentary confusion during this Sunday’s City v Country match, as Rabbitohs halfback Adam Reynolds pairs up with Bulldogs five-eighth and bearer of the same last name, Josh Reynolds, in City’s halves.

The newly-anointed pairing spoke to nswrl.com about their pending partnership – one that both Reynolds’ are looking forward to linking up in.

“He’s a good fella,” said Adam.

“I know him quite well actually so it’s going to be a great week to finally play alongside him.”

Bulldogs counter-part Josh is equally keen to line up with Adam, after being ruled out from the 2013 clash – a match that would have seen the pair together for the first time.

“I was really excited to last year,” said Josh of playing with Adam.

“I was pretty devastated to tell you the truth that I got ruled out in the end, but I’m excited now for the fun week ahead.”

But the representative week is much more for the two halves than just the novelty of playing alongside a teammate of the same name, with both excited by the prospect of playing with a diverse pool of talent while representing City.

“It’s a great week,” said Adam.

“I experienced it last year – you get to play with a lot of great players from different clubs and it’s always a proud moment representing City.”
