When it comes to pride and passion, few teams can boast the kind of support that both the Rabbitohs and the Bulldogs do – and when the two come together, it makes for one of rugby league’s great sights, especially when it’s at ANZ Stadium.
But with both Clubs calling ANZ Stadium home, Friday becomes all about you – the Members and supporters – to create that home-ground advantage and give your Rabbitohs the edge.
Rabbitohs Head Coach Michael Maguire has previously spoken about the importance of Rabbitohs Members getting the boys over the line.
“The fact that we get a big crowd off the Easter Show and plenty of our supporters coming – it’s always a special game,” said Madge.
“It always helps the boys to hear our Members and the Burrow cheering in the stands, and they really feel them get behind them.”
A then-record crowd of just over 51,000 was in attendance at the 2013 Good Friday Clash that saw the Rabbitohs emerge 17-12 victors. In the same way that the contest on the field resembled a finals match, so too did the noise from the stands with the Rabbitohs’ record-breaking NRL Membership going head to head with the Bulldogs’ own strong Membership base. This year – it’s a Rabbitohs home-game.
But there’s only one way to get the full experience this Good Friday, and that’s by getting out to ANZ Stadium and throwing your support behind your Rabbitohs! The boys can’t hear you cheering from your lounge-room, so don your red and green, hop on a train, ferry or bus and get out to ANZ Stadium to support the mighty Rabbitohs.
