It’s a must win game for both of these teams if they’re to be any chance of being contenders in 2014, but victory will only be the first step in a long road back to where the Bears finished in the 2013 season.
The Bears currently sit in eleventh position and will take on a Manly side that sits just two spots below them.
The Bears were unable to repeat their round one win against the Roos last weekend, going down 22-12 while Manly ran into a fired up Sharks outfit and lost 38-10.
Norths will again be aided by the first-grade ability of Beau Champion and Lote Tuqiri – both of whom have played pivotal roles for the North-siders in recent weeks. The side no doubt misses the organising capability of Rabbitohs hooker Apisai Koroisau – who donned the Bears number seven jersey late last season and into the new year.
With a superior points differential over the last-placed Sea Eagles, one would expect that the Bears will have the goods to finally turn their season around having not won a match since round one.
