Rabbitohs forward Sam Burgess fronted the rugby league media today (Tuesday) ahead of this Friday’s Easter Showdown clash with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium.

Burgess said his team is still a work in progress despite the solid performance against the Panthers last week.

"We've got a lot of improvement to do as a team," said Sam.

"We're certainly happy with some parts of our defense, but there's a lot of areas to work on still - it's only early on in the year."

Burgess added that the team had learned a lot about themselves during a recent slump in form prior to their last two wins.

"Losses are never good, but I think we learned a lot about ourselves through that time," said Burgess.

"We continued to just knuckle down and work hard."
