Rabbitohs prop George Burgess fronted the rugby league media today (Tuesday) ahead of this Friday night’s round six clash with the Penrith Panthers at the foot of the mountains.

While the mood in Redfern is upbeat, Burgess stressed the need to keep moving forward following the Rabbitohs' victory in round five over the Dragons.

"We're trying to keep a level head and keep moving forward - it's a long season," said Burgess.

"You can't go too high after the wins. We probably learned that lesson in round one so we've got to just keep moving forward and working hard at training."

Burgess added that the Rabbitohs will be doing their homework on the Panthers ahead of the match.

"We'll have a bit of a look today and this week and see a few key players and few ways we can go at them."
