Rabbitohs and England forward Tom Burgess spoke to Rabbitohs TV this week about his foray into last year’s Rugby League World Cup on his home soil, with the big prop confident that he took much from the experience.

“It was a great experience for me just getting into the squad and getting into that environment and playing in a big game against Australia was a great experience – I’ll be better for it.”

Among the highlights for Burgess was playing against fellow Rabbitohs teammate Greg Inglis in the opening round of the tournament. Burgess is content to have the Kangaroos fullback/centre on his side of half-way.

“He’s a good player, I’ll tell you that,” admitted Burgess.

“I think one try that he scored he jumped over the top of Sam Tomkins, so I don’t know about playing against him every week.”
