Wyong Roos Vs North Sydney Bears

Morry Breen Oval, Sunday, July 7

Kick-off: 3.00pm

The North Sydney Bears will be looking to back up from their mid-week loss to Windsor by travelling to Morry Breen Oval to play the Wyong Roos on Sunday.

Norths have enjoyed what can only be described as a disjointed month that saw two games postponed, the chopping and changing of players thanks to first grade duties, all resulting in a less than favorable on-field record. The Bears have won only one of their last five matches, putting them into provisional fourth position pending the result of their postponed match against the Illwarra Cutters.

However its not all bad news for the Bears, with the likes of Luke Keary, Luke Burgess and Josh Starling bolstering the red and black ranks for the match against the Wyong Roos. The Roos will be looking to continue their recent patch of good form after grabbing victories over the Sea Eagles and Bulldogs, as well as a solid outing against the Cutters.

Talking Point: With the NSW Cup Representative side to play the QLD Residents team to play before Origin III on the verge of being picked, the Bears match against the Roos is an all-important opportunity for players to make a claim for a position.

Mitch Williams and Magnus Stromquist from the Roos will certainly be in contention, while Bears player Josh Starling along with a handful of others could yet challenge for a jersey.
