Some pundits are labelling us as a boring Football team? I beg to differ. Our team has flare, star power and character, but our opposition hasnt asked us to show that to its full extent yet! I have never heard anyone saying Greg Inglis is a boring player, Nathan Merritt sure is not a boring player and Sam Burgess? Boring? Ha! We are on top of the table and have turned around our club enormously and we get told we are boring watch out Warriors!

The Warriors have won five games in a row and are climbing up the ladder, so I fear them slightly. But if they question us I am sure we will answer. Our team has a mental hold on its opposition now. We dont just have to muscle up to win these days, we wear them down mentally. Its something we used to let other teams do to us.

We have had to shuffle our team in the past few weeks, and usually this would be a worry, but every man that dons the Rabbit is in the very same mind space as the next. This solidarity crushed the Raiders. When a team chooses to show you respect and take the two points early in the game, you know you have the upper hand, and we took advantage of this.

What I enjoyed about Souths against the Raiders is that none of our players took over the game, instead the whole team seemed to show patience and were ready when they needed to be. For an opposition, this is deadly. Our wingers and centers are just loving their footy and putting in everything theyve got. Each one of them have the ability to slice open the defence, Reynolds keeps his opposition in two minds with his evolving kicking game, Sutto scares with his brilliant capacity of taking on the line, Issac Luke doesnt let anyone rest with his smarts at dummy half and our forwards are getting us up field to let these men play to their strengths. Roll all of these together and our win record this year is easily explained.

Can we keep this up against the Warriors? If we can, we are sitting pretty.

The Warriors have double the trip that we have for this match smart move on our behalf. A bit of Warrior jet-lag can only help us. Looking at our run on the table, we can give our all to beat New Zealand because we are then blessed with another bye. Then the footy begins again with games against the Dragons, the Titans and Cowboys. Then we head into big games against Melbourne and Manly, the two biggest teams in recent history, the teams we have to top to prove our worth this season. Yes, we are up the top and playing brilliant football, but these teams know finals, and it is our aim, every inch of our being wants and needs our boys to take the points from these teams.

I have been to as many games as possible since 2002, I have seen us lose 66-nil to New Zealand, I have been to Suncorp on many occasions and struggled to bring back the points, I have battled the heat in Townsville, the chill in Canberra, the fans in Newcastle and the tragics in Cronulla, and I have not been alone in doing this. We have seen many players try to bring success to our team, but never have we seen a team so close and so focused. I feel like we are going to be rewarded this season. I feel as though all those Members who stuck around when we won only three games in the season will be compensated with triumph. Every minute of heartache will be absolutely worth every second, every dollar, ever kilometre.

But just like you wouldnt want to wish your years away, I do not want to wish away the lead up to this success. I want to see our boys focused every week, hungry every week and improving every week. So watch out Warriors because Inglis has got you covered, Reynolds has his kicking boots on, and the forwards are looking for massive metres!

Keep your eyes on the Red and Green, you are about to be entertained. Lets hold on to this lead on the table, and make 2013 OUR YEAR.

Up the Mighty Rabbitohs!
